Telford 46 Architects is an architectural studio in Ierapetra, a southeast town of Crete, undertaking projects in Greece and abroad.
The studio was established by Aris Theodoridis and Manos Tselas on a sunny day in Ierapetra in January 2020. However, its story began on a rainy day, six years earlier, in Huddersfield in the United Kingdom.
Four friends began to study as a team in the same apartment, to help each other with university studies. This apartment was Flat 46 in “Telford Close” building. The name “Telford 46 Architects” is a tribute to those memories with Constantinos and Alexandros who were the owners of this apartment where our story began.
Architecture is the quality in our everyday moments, the aesthetics through functional spaces and we approach it through a broad vision and holistic design. Every decision in the design process, any interaction between different elements, any choice of material, will work as stimuli for the habitant, in order to create conscious and subconscious feelings.
A building must serve a function. This function gives the building its shape. Otherwise, whatever its aspirations are, if it is not functional, then the building has no purpose. That is why we believe that it must be designed and constructed correctly, even in its details.
